XKR's should be red, as well as have red leaper markers on the fenders, and red wheel caps. XK8's are green. Silverstone edition is...silver. I noticed your wheel caps are green as well

On the other hand, I personally think green looks cooler.

D'oh! This is what I thought, but wanted to make sure. Duly noting for correction ASAP...

(Green is cooler, but I'm meticulous about OE-spec)

Later XKRs had green..... From green and black to green and white with chequered flag markings either side but technically on a 2000 car should be red...

And to OE spec lol

I'm with the OP as far as keeping the original look is concerned.

When I bought my 2005 XKR 4.2-S 2 years ago, it came with black centre caps on the 20" wheels. Some people on here told me they should be red, so I triple checked, ending up buying the orginal Jaguar brochure, and it turns out black is the correct colour for my car.

So be careful

Ha! Well if the leapers weren't red already, I'd be tempted to leave everything else green... I do think it looks classier. How hard are the leapers to replace?

You could always Change them to side repeaters

Clear side markers and running lights should have been standard. Orange looks horrible on a few different colors. Removing the orange on my black XKR makes it look so much more modern.

+1 for orange removal on a black car.

You could also do a "smoke" marker and repeater for that more sinister look.

Tinted repeaters can be found on ebay but had to make my own markers by spritsing the inside of them with a coat of tail light tint before assembling.

The general rule of thumb (there are exceptions, of course) with vehicle colours is no more than 2-3.

My XKR, for example, already has sky blue paint, ivory interior and red rear lights and brake calipers (I don't count the black trim). That is quite enough. Adding orange to that mixture just doesn't work. In fact I even swapped the orange indicator bulbs for SilverVisions (and later fully invisible LED bulbs) to avoid the orange egg-yolk effect.

I think you can get away with keeping the orange side reflectors on 'none-colour' black or silver cars, as you are already starting with one colour less.
