Shout-out to Gaudin Jaguar for parts...they went the extra mile.
Hello guys;
I'm doing some housekeeping in my engine bay right now, replacing worn items, replacing missing bits (such as cowl caps and the little piece of plastic that connects the two pieces of the plastic engine cover), etc.
Both of my coil covers had at least one break at the bolt points, from over-torqueing by a previous owner, I suppose. Problem was, the little brass sleeves in the valve cover were also missing at those same points...so even if I ordered a new coil cover with new bolts, there would be nothing to thread the bolt into (at those two points).
Mark Jiminez at Gaudin Jaguar was helping me out, we discussed the missing brass sleeves, and he discovered that Jag doesn't make them available separately. Hmmm. The only "official" way around the problem is a new valve cover, which would of course have all of the brass sleeves for the coil cover in place.
Mark was in contact with me several times on this issue, and in the end he took the time and trouble to go looking for a workaround. Since Gaudin is a Jag dealer, he found an old valve cover for me to salvage the brass sleeves from. Threw it in the box with the rest of my order, at no charge.
This was my first experience with Gaudin- great pricing, excellent service. Highly recommended. Mark Jiminez, you're THE MAN.

Hey coupe thanks for the scoop on Gaudin.....
Always nice to hear more positives about these guys.....It can / will help others to make informed decisions.
Kudos to Mark by the sounds of it
I am just looking at ordering my suspension parts very soon and have thought about this dealer as well as others. I have always never looked at spending extra $$ for great service. Thanks for the heads up on this one!!!

I've been using them almost since I got the Jag. They are knowledgeable regarding what are the correct parts; and which parts are needed when performing most regular work jobs. Very helpful indeed.
PS. Regarding the cam cover brass sleeves; I had the same issue and fixed them in place using JB weld. It has been over two years and they have not worked loose. Try it. g.
