Default Silverstone with restricted performance

Hello to all, i need some advise.
I have a 2001 XKR Silverstone with 23k miles, the car was sitting for the past few years. Now im driving it daly but once in a while i get the performance restricted light. No check engine light and no codes are present with the snap on scanner.
What happens is when i floor the gas some times the car just flyes but sometime it just dont have power and after a bit i get the light. If i drive at 90 i have no problems, i can push it at 120 and it gets there fast!
In traffic is when i have the issue most of the times. The dealer said throuttle body, $3600..but 23k miles?

Well any help will be apprciated. Thanks so much.

This is the problem, i have no codes that i can detect.
Seems like when i punch hard the gas pedle the engine esitate a little before getting to speed, usually close to the 3k rpm, basicly when the suspercharger kicks in the car drives well.

Assuming that a professional reader was used, then indeed it is strange you did not receive any codes. Although in the jaguar documentation the TB is mentioned as a possible cause for hesitation, I would guess other usual suspects.

I have just had this similar issue on my car, hesitation, slightly higher fuel consumption and no codes. The hesitation started when you put load on the engine, so going from vacuum to positive airpressure (or as you say when the SC kicks in).

Have first done the easy/cheap checks, so change MAF sensor (I have a couple…), cleaned air filter (K&N, was overdue), checked cables between ECU and the CKP/CMP sensors, swapped TB (have no standard one, but have more), change fuel filter (was overdue anyhow), checked fuel pressure, swapped ECU, checked the timing, checked plugs where ok, but swapped them with an older set.

Of course nothing helped, and was left with a more expensive swap of the ignition coils as I didn’t have these. As I have already 180.000 miles on them, I just bit the bullet and bought 8 new ones.

That solved my problem.

Good luck!
