Default Some happy for the nervous Jag Owners

When I got the car 2 years ago and joined this forum all requests for help made me very nervous about touring in my Grand Touring Car. I had a couple of long trips last summer that were uneventful and now just returned from a 2500 mile trip to Myrtle Beach from London Ontario. I was kind of disappointed to see 185,000 km's roll over on her but then I did get her to drive.
I did get something on the trip that every Jaguar owner should have, a speeding ticket in North Carolina. Tell me why the speed limit changes from 70- to 65 at an imaginary line?
I kept accurate mileage and ended up at 39.7 MPG (Imperial) so I got to say that is pretty impressive for a big V8 and tells me she is probably running well.
Snow is in the forecast here now, so sadly time to put her away for the winter. No big projects just want to investigate a couple of weeping hoses that are leaving some spots on the floor.

Miss Kitty - looks at home with some Palm Trees in North Myrtle Beach

Thanks for sharing that Daro31 - it's good to hear people not having problems with their cars... I'll be honest I'd be totally scared trying that BUUUT hopefully I'll get more confidence in this car.

If it helps you Matthew, I've owned my 2005 XK8 for eight years, total mileage 70k. I've driven it almost 50k miles including four long distance tours over the Channel in France and never had any show-stoppers.

Apart from routine maintenance, the only repairs required have been to replace the lower bushes in the front shockers and to re-solder the brake microswitches after getting the common No Cruise Control - Check Rear Lights message.
