Steve 1 gearbox 0 well after 1 hr fighting with bending 8mm bars and smashed 3/8 rachets I got out the welder

Big clout with a 4 lb bloc hammer and she is free.
.
One bash with a 4 LB hammer and the level plug on the gearbox is loose .. and the drain plug 4 bashes with the hammer .

 

Attaboy. I may just start with one like that before even trying it without leverage.

 

Well worth doing I drained 3.6 q out and put 6 in !!! No grumble now.

 

A bit OT, but I noticed that the box made a noise (best I can describe it as a moaning sound) when I was doing the drain/fill procedure at start-up with only the initial cold fill fluid level. Had me worried the first time I did it

 

I think its the pump fighting for fluid ..made a noise when going through the gears on the initial fill.....How did you go with the April fool or truth post ? Thought you might answer ? Maybe you didn't want to fall into the tappet trap !!
