Question Splashguards on an XK8?

Has anyone fitted splashguards (in the UK we call them mud flaps) to an XK8? If so what do they look like? I live in the country where the local roads are often covered in mud which sprays up the side of the car - the reason for the question!
I have never seen an XK8 with "flaps" although I have seen them advertised on E-bay.
I would suggest photos but for some reason - despite being a member for 9 months or so, I can't open photos on the site.

Hi, Ray.

I recommend you go to the main www.jaguarforums.com page and read the New Members thread, especially this one: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=22253.

Before you can see photos, download PDFs, etc, you will have to reach a minimum number of posts (10) which is easy to do by introducing yourself to other members, participating in discussions, etc.

We're a friendly bunch and you'll reach your fully fledged membership threshold in no time.

Welcome!

I think all of my first ten posts were in the "Girls on Cars" thread.

If you are in Suffolk I am not a million miles away in Norfolk, I have plenty of mudflaps kicking around, if you want to pop over and take a look.

I always tell people who are about to buy an XK to try and find one that has had mudflaps fitted, they protect the front sill edge big time.

I thought us Yanks would call them Mud Flaps and you Brits would call them Splashguards!

Mudflaps/splash guards are so British You hardly ever see them over here in France and I'm always amazed at just how many Brits fit them to their cars when I go back to the UK.

I have seen them on XK8/Rs and personally I don't like them. Yes, they keep the bodywork a little less dirty, but there's a big trade-off in terms of aesthetics, IMHO: they look out of place on a Jag. Would you fit them to an Aston Martin, or a Veyron?
