Default Starter won't engage

Car ran fine yesterday. Go out to use it and will not turn over. I check the battery and is fully charged and checks good on a load tester. Climbed under the car and jumped the starter and it will crank. Fuses check good. The starter relay has power to it but when you turn the key there is no power to the relay to trigger it and not sure if they ever did but all the lights go dim when the key is turned. I checked and cleaned the grounds on the battery and still will not crank. Checked the enertia switch and no luck. Hoping someone can shed some light as to where to go next. The car was never driven in salt and still looks like new underneath. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I replaced mine last year because it had a dead spot that made it unreliable. The first replacement I got had a frozen shaft. The 3rd was a charm. These can be rebuilt.

It is beginning to look like the starter itself but did you check:

1. the negative ground lead from the battery where it bolts to the chassis
2. tightness of connections in the high power protection module (black box behind the spare wheel)?
3. the engine ground lead where it bolts to the body.

The starter works every time that I apply power to the solenoid. I have checked the battery grounds. The engine grounds are clean and tight. I did not check the connections to the power module. When the key is turned it does not send power to the starter relay. Power is present to the relay but nothing comes when you turn the key for the start sequence.

Found the problem. Over the winter I changed the transmission fluid as well as the sleeve for the wiring harness. Scanning for codes it came up with P1517 which is the park/neutral switch. I pulled the harness from the transmission and there was some hydraulic fluid on the connector. Cleaned it up and reinstalled the plug and the car starts.
