Some of the leather on my steering wheel is turning from tan to black. Anyone tried to refinish one?

Leather dye is usually successful on seats (as I and many other members have found) but reports on steering wheel refurbishments have been variable. I see the following major players in leather restoration products offer kits specifically for steering wheels which may resolve this:

Did refinish mine with furniture clinics color matched paint, extremely good result, easy to apply, cleaned with thinner before paint went on(some of the old paint came off out of that, but not to much), used a art thin hair brush, was worried for some brush strokes, those didn't happen, it just leveled out perfectly,
