Default Rear Clunking noise going over bumps

Clunking noise going over bumps.
I have a rear clunking noise when I go over certain bumps. Don’t have the noise when going over smaller bumps or when the road is smooth.
my car is a XK8 1999 with 52,000 miles.
Any info would be great.

Could be worn-out components anywhere in the rear suspension. Sway bar links, sway bar bushings, lower shock mount bushings, etc. Get underneath the rear end, have a close look, and do some poking and prying....

Probably rear damper upper mount isolators and/or upper spring isolators.

I do BOTH at the same time when the dampers are removed for replacement of those parts.

Default Rear clunking

I’m going to replace my lower shock absorber bushing. I think there’s information about this but I have not found it yet looking for a procedure. After completing a front spring, upper and lower shock mount replacement. I now hear my rear clunking, hope it’s just the lower bushing. I just want to drive

did both lower and the upper, the lower ones are possible to do in situ, but it was a pain to do that(if you don't have the jaguar tools and or car mechanic workshop), Chances are good that your upper ones are finished aswell, so better unbolt the whole package(not so complicated as it might appear, there are threads here on that) and get better access to work with it, in hindsight that would probably have saved me a few hours and some blood,
Cheers!
