Default Steering wheel telescoping cable replacement link

There's been a few threads about this lately. I found a source for the cable $99 as of today.

I did the reach cable replacement during the summer and ordered this part from Jagbits.
Part was at my door within a week and fit perfectly.

It was a bit of a PITA. Took me about 4 hours but I'm not too mechanically inclined so it might take you
less. Removing the stuff to get at it was fairly easy but I didn't drop the steering wheel so getting the
replacement cable seated proper took about an hour of fiddling around. Once the cable was seated
proper it worked great but since I'm fairly tall I put the steering wheel as far as I could towards the dash
and turned it off. There's a great thread by Colquan1066 that you should check out before you start,

I have written up the way to setup the position sensor but it was likely YEARS ago.
Be aware that if the reach setting is placed in AUTO and the position sensor is not calibrated, the motor will drive the reach gear until the motor stalls and probably destroy the new cable.

I suggest moving the column to a comfortable place and turn the knob to OFF.

You can set the position sensor to stop the motor BEFORE the mechanical stop is reached so the cable is not in a bind, but you will need to do the adjustment and not simply install the new cable and hope it is set correctly.

Even if you set the sensor to stop the motor before it stalls, the sensor might be faulty. Why did the cable fail in the first place????
A failed position sensor will keep driving the motor even when the mechanical stop is reached.
