what model and year? Do you know if you have premium sound system or base? There is a device that can be connected between the amp and the cd player which (depending on model) will allow the ipod to play in place of the CD. One model (iP-JAGCD) will disable the cd player; the other (JAGCDR)will allow the cd player to work when the ipod is not connected. Here is the link for the iP-JAGCD, but you can find the link to the JAGCDR midway down the page.

I encourage you to:
1) search the archives of this forum...this subject has been discussed many times, and you will find all of the answers you need.
2) Read the link that was given to you below, it clearly says that the JAG-CDR only works with the ALPINE unit, not the Harmon-Kardon.
In searching the archives (ipod, install) you will find several other methods for connection, since the JAD-CDR will not work for your car. Or mine, by the way.

I bought a Cyanics Ideck unit to try out. Expecting it to be a waste of money, I was surprised when it worked very well, and sounded really good. I use it daily and have had no issues with it at all. Google will tell you where and how much, I think mine was $40.
It is very well built and holds an iPod securely to the front of your existing cassette deck. It has an integrated apple connector and cradle, and also provides a 3.5mm jack on the side for other devices. Like the older style " plug in" type cassette adapters it uses the playback heads, but this sounds way better, they really got the design spot on.
Really crisp highs and plenty of bottom end too, sounds way better than I ever expected. If you are looking for an easy option, it's worth a try.
