Sterring wheel controls

I have a 2006 Jaguar XK8 convertiable and was wondering if the sterring wheel controls are suppose to light up? Mine don't and the sealership told me they don't.

I asked the same question about my '05 XK8 and go the same answer from my dealer. Hard to believe!
