Default Sticky Ignition Switch

Good morning, I am having some issues with my Igintion switch. When removing the key steering wheel will not retract and go to the up position. I can tap the key on the key slot and it will function properly. I think it just needs to be lubed. Should I try silicon or grafight? Concerned about silicon causing an issue with the electronics and grafight gumming up the switch. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Jim

There is a little "door" that covers the key hole, it is this that is sticking so the car thinks the key is still in the ignition, I just use a simple squirt of WD40 does the trick just as well

Locksmith's graphite is the best product for lock lube.

It doesn't pick up dirt or dry out.
