Default Stock Rear Muffler Replacement

I'd like to replace my rear muffler/resonator with a similar one made out of stainless steel so it will look better. I am not interested in a new performance exhaust, I like the sound of the stock system, I'd just like the rear muffler to be shiny. Does anyone know if anyone makes such a muffler?

Me too.

Where do Jaguar find their exhaust system steel? Presumably from a supplier near to the c**p chrome tailpipe trim manufacturer (rant over).

The stock exhaust is supposed to be stainless. It just has a high steel content.

As a test, if you get underneath and scrub with some sandpaper you will find that it is not flakes like ordinary steel. Instead rust coloured dust comes off and there is shiny stuff underneath.

Now, citric acid will remove the oxidation.

Lemon juice.

plums,

Can I lie under the car with a Gin & Tonic and a twist of lemon and just breathe on it to get the same effect?

No ... you have to drink the G&T while rubbing the lemon on the exhaust

You could buy Mina's 304 stainless steel system that is polished to a nice shine, but it won't sound stock anymore. One other option that I did with my custom system is to paint the muffler an pipes up to the tips with high heat black. The mufflers look good, and are much less noticeable:
