I agree.

Black wheels have become fashionable on modern cars over the past couple of years. They started off on hyper cars and then worked their way down the market until now we see them on any mundane hatchback trying to look sporty.

They weren't really around when the XK8/R was being built and therefore, by definition, look aftermarket.

Similarly, they make the car look as if it's pretending to be a race car/hyper car, which it clearly isn't.

 

I am in 2 minds about stripes, I was thinking about doing something on my XKR, the bonnet/hood is going to be carbon fibre and wanted to leave it exposed so it could be seen but wouldn't look right just on the bonnet....... Maybe....maybe not

 

Just leave it plain and paint the rest of the car Ebony Black.

 

I have had black cars before, they look great when clean, but a real pain to keep them that way.

I will stick with the Phoenix Red, it's growing on me
