Default Strong gas smell

The other day I was driving in fairly heavy traffic and all of a sudden there was a strong gas smell. It continued for 10 minutes or so and I stopped and opened the hood. Couldn't see a leak or smell anything.
I drove off and again smelled gas. It went away after about 15 minutes. Anybody got an idea what that was all about?

How much gas did you have in the tank?

Default gas

My jag did the same thing. The original canister purge valve can some times spring a leek. The valve is located in your driver side fender. There is a new updated style available that eliminates this.

I would be driving and come to a stop and get a strong smell of gas.

There is a tech bulletin about it.

Red face gas smell

it happened almost every day, and it did not throw a code for a hell of a long time.

Shot me a PM with your email and i will send you the Jag tech bulletin about it.
