Stuck on a14 windscreen wipers gone mad!
Hey guys, this seems unlikely but hoping someone can help with some diy advise.
Currently stuck on lay-by on a14 as windscreen wipers have gone mad.... Waiting for repair man and hoping I can give him a few options to try before towing me. (It's very wet)
The wipers either only rock in their bays or go too far and snag on each other or don't come back down at all.
The motor is newish, has power and seems to work and I can see the arm linkage underneath the bonnet rotate every time.
Any ideas, tighten the wiper bolts? There is a little play in both arms...
Any ideas?

[QUOTE=Jandreu;1374851]I have no real experance with this problem however it does sound like the arms are not tight on the shaft splines. If the nuts can be tightened give it a try.

Thanks for all the comments chaps. Very helpful. Annoyingly I didn't have a socket set so had to wait for greenflag. He initially thought the linkage had snapped, but I wasn't convinced and asked him to tighten bolts, just in case, as I had 'read it could be an issue'.
After realigning them on the spindles it worked a charm.
Well worth checking your if you have used them a lot.... As you will have with the U.K Weather of late.
Green flag man suggested fitting some locking nuts... Would there be any issues with this?
Thanks again.
Ps credit to green flag, issue fixed at side of road within an hour of calling them in terrible weather on a very busy day.
