Default Sudden Check Eng. Light

After replacing the bulbs in my instrument cluster, I found a CEL Suddenly showing up. The local Jag dealer has said that it is the result of an Oil Temp sensor and the 'replacement wiring" to my gauges. They want me to replace the sensor, and remove the add-on wiring(RealGauges replacement). I don't know if this is a result of bad rewiring when I replaced the gauge cluster, or a really bad sensor. They claim they cannot replace the sensor without replacing the wiring.

Hey Sam read your problem and I was curious where the oil temp sensor was located. I found it in a thread searching (you probably did too). This was the tread I found the diagram on. Hope it works just copied and pasted it.

Looks like it might be pretty accessible near the oil filter. I think before I got rid of the real gauge and the wiring I would replace or check out the sensor first. Sure you were thinking the same way. Good Luck

S.G.,
Thanks for that thread/diagram. That is my thought also, to check the sensor. Looks like it might be inside the filter?? I will check.
