Default suspension thoughts

Any thoughts? My 2003 Jag XK8 convertible rides terribly rough, so much so that my spouse has decided the ride is too stiff and painful on the back. I’m not convinced it’s worse than our Subaru but . . .

I am the 2nd owner with the records from each and every service done over the years and the car is near on perfect, and a regular ride. With the last tire purchase 5 years ago the report was the alignment was done with great difficulty but accomplished in spite of the suspension issues. In reading over this forum I agree with the steps our mechanic recommends but the prices are a bit hard to swallow. Given the safety issues and ride performance I am leaning towards doing at least the front rebuild (at the tune of 2,000$ US) and wonder if adding the back would give the spouse a good ride? (About 1,500$ US).

I know that is almost what I paid for the car and definitely know it doesn’t add to tangible value. Thoughts on keeping this beautiful ride for 5 years with current ride for use about 2,000 miles/year? It’s a perfect ride for the desert and I do appreciate the intangible joys of spontaneous drives up the mountains and through the desert. This jag smooths out at 70mph as easy as ever.

can you do the work yourself? Not too overly complicated and front can be done in a Saturday afternoon for about $5-600 in parts.

Can you elaborate on that? What were the suspension issues? 'Too stiff and painful on the back' makes me wonder if a previous owner has fitted something unusual in place of the normal suspension?

Or maybe are CATS but the module was disconnected so they are in stiff mode

Tires that are over filled will give a rough ride.

what size are your tires and the psi pressures ?

sorry to not answer - other things came up and I still have to look . I have had at least 4 of your vehicles, my favorite beaters were my galaxy 65, 66 and the kawasaki was a 70 i think. my high school days saw engines all over our yard.
