Switched power source in trunk
I'm getting ready to install an iSimple Transit Blu device in my trunk. I need an ignition switch activated power source. There are huge bundles of wires in and around the stereo amp, CD changer and convertible top pump. Obviously some of them have switched power, but which ones ?? Any suggestions would be appreciated
Barry:
I suggest staying away from the wire bundles. There are previous threads for activating the "accessory port" near the glove box and also in the trunk (boot) via adding an OEM relay and fuse. (relay and fuse may already be there in some vehicles)

I have hooked up the power source accessory plug in the glove box and its great for running my Garmin GPS/Sat Nav. I will have a look for threads related to a plug in the trunk but the only loose ones I have found to date appear to be powered all the time.
Here is the link that worked in my situation. Note that WhiteXKR cautioned me about using about adding a non-OEM relay.

If you look in the bottom right hand corner of your trunk you may find a small white? faced plug. Apparently it was used in manufacturing when they moved the cars. If you test the plug you will find that some of the connections are switched live. Will see if I can find a photo for you.
Here you go, its not my photo. Its the plug on the right circled.
