Default They can still be had

XK8s under 10,000 miles. This one has 8475.

Jaguar : XK Convertible in Jaguar | eBay Motors

Yeah, it's not the configuration I'd prefer, I know nothing about the seller,
it's possible to have too few miles on an older car, etc etc etc.

But I still like the virginal quality of the thing and the price is right.

It's just waiting for you to come and do whatever it is you do to virginal things

Actually the car looks pretty pristine, as it should be with only 8,500 miles. I wonder if the suede seating was offered by Jaguar or was aftermarket?

It will be curious to see what the car ends up fetching.

After examining the detailed photos, my read is that the miles are original.

I figured that was part of the carbon-fiber edition,
but I don't really know anything about it.
Car looked legit to me..

The biggest negative is the lack of a "R" after the XK.

Looks like it has part of the R shifter. Does that count?

Not a big carbon fiber fan, but could live with the color combo otherwise. Like everyone else, I'm curious about the two-tone seats. Seen two-tone on special editions before, but not in suede. And they look awful worn for 8500 miles.

I absolutely love the exterior paint color. The price is pretty decent too. Too bad it isn't an R though...

Actually that car would be somewhat collectible since it was a Portfolio edition where, I think, only 500 were produced (half red and half blue if memory serves).

I do have to agree about anyone that nicknames their Jaguar with some cutesy variation of cat, or even "cat" itself.

Ew. The only thing collectible about that is the layer of dust that accumulates as you hide it in the garage out of sheer embarrassment.

I've never understood why so many owners throw away buckets of money turning previously gorgeous vehicles into public eyesores. This is certainly one of them....

This was the way the vehicle originally came! The blue portfolios have interiors that do not clash as much as do the red ones.

Hard to believe. Perhaps the interior installers at the factory were all colorblind when that car was built. That's a better excuse than Jaguar actually intending to build that car that way....

I remember when I was shopping around back in 2008 for an XK8/XKR I came across a local Jaguar dealer that was advertising a Portfolio just like this one for about $44K and explaining how this was such a rare and desirable car. The price wasn't too bad at the time but I recall this car was advertised for months and months. I don't know if the dealer ever ended up selling it or if they just turned it over to an auto broker or something.

That's why I have named my car Liz, it is after all, an old British queen.
