Three-dial gauge lights
My car is currently buttoned up for the winter, but I'm looking to take care of little odds and ends that need attention before the snow, ice, and salt go away. In the fall, I noticed one of the lights behind the three dial gauge cluster (oil, clock, batter) was out and I can't seem to figure out the part number. I think the holder+bulb assembly is LJA4390BA, but when I look that up, it says it's for 1999-2003. That should work for a 2005 xk8 too, right? Also is it possible to just buy the bulb? I think it's a T10 3 watt, but would like a confirmation. Finally, has anyone had success with LED bulbs for this application?
Thanks,
Norm

I have replaced most of my lights with LEDs rather successfully. Just check them in advance to determine which lead is positive. Saves a lot of time not having to 'pull and reverse'.
I am having an ongoing minor problem with my Oil Pressure low/high light on my 'Real Gauge' unit. The light stays on very faintly at all times, regardless of the pressure. Most noticeable at night. All other parts of the Real Gauge work great.

I went to Amazon and ordered a package from there. I believe the 'T-10' size is what is used for most of the gauges. Maybe others here can give exact numbers. I may haver ordered a
Variety pack' to up my odds of getting the right sizes. Not real expensive either way. A definite improvement. I changed as many bulbs around the car as I could.

I've replaced all major dash lights and the fake 3 gagues in the center for incredibly great price. I use the LED , they are brighter, and add a real nice new tint to the gagues. With LED measure bulb to mark positive side and install positive side down. Piece of cake install and great upgrade for peanuts.
Awesome thanks so much guys!
I finally used a more appropriate search term on the forum (hint: use "bulbs" not just "dash console lights") and found this super helpful thread:

I'll give the LEDs a shot - I'm hoping the lower power consumption and lower heat produced helps keep things in better shape for longer.
Cheers,
Norm

If you replace turn signal you will find the flasher blinks faster due to the lower amperage drawn. s
Some of the other lights may give bad indications due to the change in amperage.

Makes sense. Thanks for the heads up. I'll start with that three-gauge cluster and maybe the license plate lights. I just replaced the taillights with incandescent bulbs in the fall, so hopefully those should hold up for a few years.
I bought the "Variety Pack" of bulbs, so I had a bunch of different sizes. Likely cost the same as me ordering several of the wrong size. When I run out of a specific size, I know what to order.
