What did you use to do the smoke test. I've been looking at YouTube videos and think I've found one that looks easy enough to build and use. I'll see if I can get that done tomorrow so I can eliminate or look for that issue before surgery.
I'm going to order the O2 sensors so they'll be here when I'm able to start wrenching again.
This is similar to the one I used. But there are others that do the same thing for less money.
The issue is the machine has to generate enough pressure. It's not much, but it has to be enough to expel enough smoke from the leak to see. The less expensive ones often require shop air. They are invaluable for sussing out EVAP system leaks.
like i said it is going to be a couple weeks before i can get to wrenching again . . .
Save yourself a bit of headache, spend the extra dosh, and get the DENSO downstream sensors. No wiring hassles and you'll have the correct OEM plug style and color.
By the way I've never heard back from iCarsoft regarding the obd2 questions so I wrote to the Amazon seller and they are returning my purchase price. I've since read threads on here, on the S~ type forum, of other members having the same issues I had, with the LR V2.0 not giving any errors or codes for problems. Now I have to start looking all over again for an obd2 that will actually work with my car. I found a thread that listed a number of them and the models that they were tested with but I lost the link. Since I now have time to search, all be it very slowly, I'll see if I can find it again.
