This may seem like a dumb question but I haven't got my owners manual for my xk8 convertible and with all the talk about hydraulic hose problems I want to know for both putting the top up and down does it have limit switches so it quits at the proper place or do you need to let off on the button when it seems to be opened or closed completely.
don't want to put extra strain on the system. I am putting together the voltage reduction kit but still waiting on the resistor. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it has limit switches, so no worries there.

One thing you can do, however, is operate the top without the engine running (either in the ignition accesory position with the console switch or using the door lock switch). This cuts the voltage down by about 2 volts, and the lower voltage is a good thing because it is also lower pressure.
