Default Trac ABS Unavailable

Once in a while I get the "trac not available" warning on my instrument panel. I also get the "ABS not available" warning at the same time. any feedback on this would be appreciated. 2001 XK8

I've moved your post from the Forums Feedback/suggestions section which is for issues pertaining to the forum itself, to the XK8/XKR section where you will get a better response.

regards,
Steve

One of the major causes is a weak battery. Stop at a auto supply and ask them to load test the battery. After that there are several possibilities, all related to the abs module and wheel sensors. Here is a pdf that may help:

yea get the battery load tested first. If ya have a weak battery the many components in these cars do not like low voltage and can act oddly.

I had the same problem. The solution is to connect an intelligent battery charger whenever the car is in your Garage. This keeps the battery trickle charged. A lot of the electrical problems are caused by a slightly low voltage.

If not the battery it could be a wheel sensor or connecting cable. I had same messages and it was near side wheel sensor connecting cable.
