Traction Control/ABS Problem Solved

Traction Control/ABS Problem Solved
I bought the car, a 1999 XK8, over 1.5 years ago with an intermittent Traction Control/ABS warning light issue. Cleaned sensors but to no avail. Decided to cut into my unit to effect the soldering remedy. In the process of doing so, I dislodged two components from the circuit board so decided to look for other alternatives. Called the dealer who gave me a price range of $1470 to $2070 for the electronic control module, depending on my VIN. Out of sheer desperation, I searched EBay for an LNC 2210BD. He was asking $189 and I lowballed him (Mike from Americanautoparts1) and he rebuffed my price but offered a 60 day warranty. The next day I offered him $150 (plus shipping) and the part was on my way. But not just the ECM. He shipped me the entire manifold block, ECM and mounting bracket. FWIW, the part came off of an XJ8 Vanen Plas. Took me all of five minutes to install. No air in brake lines, no warning lights, no complications. Simplest fix I've had! He will be one of my favorite EBay sellers from now on and I hope you can find the success with your cars that did today with mine!

Good that you found a good source of used parts--a very important part of keeping these great cars running. Electronic modules new are just unaffordable.
I also found an ABS module for my XK8 for $100, however the part was for an XJ8 without traction control. I found another one closeby, however Spring floods completely flooded the XK8 prior to their pulling the part.
I finally got one for $350 from the module rebuilder in Rogersville, TN, but it came with a lifetime warranty. Expensive but they're standing behind it. My old ABS module was fried. Now, if I could just get motivated enough to install it.
Good luck to you!
