I have 97 xk8 and it make grind noise metal on metal sound when I put slight load on the engine at about 1500rpm the transmission is in non sport mode and sound like the torque convertor is trying to lock up. The tach will bounce a slight amount, the noise only last for a few seconds and if I give it more gas the noise goes away. Any guess? thanks

I have 97 XK8 with 54K miles -- I hear a grinding noise at 32-40 mph only with a load on engine. No noise when in Neutral at same speeds

The noise sounds like a Plastic fender liner rubbing on tire - BUT no evidence of any palstic contact .. Any Thoughts ?

 

I have this too anyone know???
