Transmission Bump

Transmission Bump
For lack of a better way to describe what is going on with my 2001 XK8 convertible. I have a ZF Transmission in my car when the trans is cold it shifts perfect, after it warms up if I give it gas to quickly from a stop it revs up before catching and there is a bad bump as it drops into gear. This happens in Fwd. and reverse. The car shifts out perfectly through the gears. there is also a wining noise at Hwy. speeds or when I put it into sport mode with the button by the shifter. Any insight would be helpful. I have flushed fluids already. Repair facility did not change filter.

have this performed at the dealer and the fluid level checked. This should take care of everything.

+1 on the a drum failure. Its probably just starting to fall apart as its intermittent. When it loses more of the drum, you're going to have more parts in the transmission floating around doing damage. I'd recommend getting a rebuilt, improved A-drum installed. Unfortunately, you'll lose that nice, new fluid you just treated it to.

careful, id find an independent foreign transmission specialist to read for any codes in the tranny.
If it comes to a rebuild, It would save a ton of money for you to just remove the tranny and get a bench build, and install yourself. Unless the labor is free with rebuild.
I have found excellent used units as well.
