trim under steering wheel
There are 2 (10mm?) screws at the bottom. Then it has to be "pulled" horizontally towards the rear seats to disengage 2 plastic pegs near the top. Be sure to double check interference with the steering columns and illumination knobs by raising/lowering the steering column appropriately. You might have to turn the "auto" feature off to avoid a return to the initial position. Be ready to deal with a couple of electrical connectors (aspirator and valet). It is a bit heavier than you would expect, some of it has a metal backing. Overall an easy endeavor. Should not take you more than a few minutes.
Best of luck, keep us posted.

Ant, FYI the 2 bolts Fred mentioned need only be loosened. They are in a U shaped cutout. IOW once loose and disengaged at top, just lift up to remove.
Saves time when reinstalling!
After disconnecting the climate control item behind the vent, you will hear warning see error when reinstalled, ignition on. That's ok goes away.

Hey Ant, while you have it off: some of us, myself included, got sick of kneeling the valet switch accidentally. You can easily move it to the other side of that panel, there's a blank plastic square covering the hole over there right now. Easy to pop out.
I suppose it was so they could use same panels on LHD and RHD.
If it doesn't bother you yet, just file this one for the future.
