Convertible Top Fail
Cleaning the headliner and taking photos the other day, I stopped the top mid-raise (it had been open), but gravity pulled it open again. So, using the console button, I raised the top to about 3/4 closed and shut the engine off. The top stayed put while I got my task completed.
Now, no pump noise and the top doesn't respond to the button, nor do the quarter windows close.
I have -
1) tried a hard reset by touching the negative and positive battery cables. Held them together about 15 seconds.
2) manually raised the top using the 8mm hex key. Found the top latch mechanism already closed but not through the lock-hoop, so opened the valve on the pump, forcefully lifted the front of the top and got the latch engaged.
3) no joy on pump activating to console button.
Current status - top raised and locked, quarter windows open.
Help!
I'm not very mechanically skilled, even less so with electical issues.

I would never intentionally stop the top from opening or closing mid-way through the process. That is probably a sure-fire recipe for ensuring the top function unfortunately gets out of its proper sequence. Have you consulted your owners manual regarding what it has to say about re-establishing the top sequencing process?
Use the key to open the windows again, then open the pump valve to relieve pressure with the ignition on. You may have to manually cycle the top a couple of times to get it in the proper sequence.
Close enough to something that happened to me in 2016.
I copied this from my post back then (i was so happy to figure it our I didn't want to forget). Give it a try:
. . . .
I shortly found 2 things out:
1) You need something to pry the dummy tab at the latch open. Fingers aren't going to do it.
2) The allen wrench can't move anything until you release the hydralic system pressure at the pump.
I drove home and jumped on my computer for previous threads. It took a bit of digging, but I found the info. These things can get "confused" if you stop midcycle or change direction mid cycle. How did I fix it?
In this case I just had to turn the fluid stopcock counter clockwise all the way (it has a built in stop, you will not pull it out and have your fluid spill). Then I took the allen wrench to the access hole above the rear view mirror. I lifted the roof manually about 2 inches, extended the latch with the allen wrench, droped the roof into it, then locked the latch with the allen wrench. An instant test showed the rear windows now worked. I just tighted the stop **** back up on the pump and everyting works normally. That's all it took to reset things. I hope it helps you if you need it someday.
........
Hope this nails it for you. John

Well, lads, I've tried each of the above suggestions more than once, but to no success.
Present condition - top is latched down, windows operable. No noise heard when pressing roof up/down toggle switch.
Any further hints?

Resolved! Made me very happy.
Did the window reset process, and it fixed the roof problem.
Of course it did! Strangely interconnected system.
Thank you everyone for hints and suggetions.
