I have an intermittant problem with the Nav on my 2002 xkr. Sometimes it will work normal and others the error comes up that it cant read the disc. Anyone have this issue? It didnt start until I found a 2006 alpine nav disc that also was a navtec, hoping it was the elusive newer version I installed it, and unfortunately it would not read that one. So I put the original one back in and it worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then one day I turn it on and I get the cant read disc error. I now get it intermittantly. Any ideas welcome

 

Try cleaning the disc and also the laser's head.

 

My DVD rom drive is dying, doesn't spin continually on startup, starts, sputters and stops...takes forever to read enough data to get the clock anymore.
