Ultra Gauge stopped working
Using Ultra Gauge mostly to monitor Engine Temperature. A few days ago it stopped working. Tried in 2 other Cars and it works fine. OB2 Scanner works fine in the Port. Check all the fuses they are all good. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.
I believe that the default wake-up signal for our cars, using the 9141 protocol, is detection of at least 13.2 volts from the alternator. If your alternator is not supplying that, the UltraGauge will not wake up in default mode. The manual describes how to change the default wake-up mode, so you could test this theory by trying one of the other modes.
Also, when connected to the port, pressing the UP button should momentarily wake the gauge, and pressing UP and MENU simultaneously should enter the menu system.

Bakntyme thanks for your reply. I plugged in Ultra Gauge. Started Car. Pressed Up Button. Did not power up. Check Pin. 13.4 Volts at the Pin. Plugged in to my 2017 GMC Sierra. It powered up. Any other suggestions?
If the OBD2 port works with your scanner, and the UltraGauge works in other vehicles, it seems like it must be related to the different communications protocols. Did you try contacting the UltraGauge technical support?
If you purchased it online from UltraGauge, like I did, try searching your email history for messages from either support or support2 @ultra-gauge.com. I also have an email from Paypal regarding the payment to UltraGauge.
