Default Union Jack side markers.

I've been trying to find something to replace my non working clear side markers. I've tried the side oval leapers but I don't want any color and They only come in red or green. I've tried to do vents, other badges but nothing works.
I recently found this badge from UK. It's a black and silver Union Jack and the measurements ate within mm of the clear markers. I've already got the chrome trim rings on the way for the markers and I think they will fit the Union Jack badges, maybe a little trimming though.

I also have on the way the new F-type silver and titanium wheel centers with the Union Jack on them so I think these may be the answer.

My wheel center caps
I may have my trim guy actually make a matte silver overlay to go on the side marker center stripe with the jaguar letters cut out to show black.

Our Union Flag seems to turn up on anything. This being one of the most tasteless examples:

Am I right is thinking similar commercial use of the the Stars & Stripes is prohibited?

To paraphrase Section 3 - the answer to that is 'yes'!

If our flag was as visually balanced you'd probably see more of it! I've seen several stars and stripes cars but they're always stylized for symmetry.

So are British citizens offended by a British flag on a British car? And I don't mean a whol wrap, but, say, the wheel centers or markers?

Not offended in the least. Minis had Union jacks on the roof for years and that kind of thing is fine. You also had the General Lee.

A bit more difficult with the Stars and Stripes as it isn't symmetrical.

Draping a whole car as a flag is a bit far in my opinion but what you intend to do will look pretty cool.

To be fair I do not think us Brits are as patriotic about our flag as you guys in the U.S. However the term union jack is only correctly used when the union flag is flown on a vessal at sea, on land the flag is simply the union flag. Not being a know it all, just letting you know the correct term. No offence ment.
Regards,
ArtyH

I'm on the fence with the side markers. I'd have to see them on the car first.

I learned this when watching Dr. Who.

Thumbs up

I kind of like this idea. Will be looking for pictures of the finished install.
Since I'm the local piston head that gets razzed by my buddies for driving "that British thing" it'll give me that little extra without being too brazen..

Suppose really the correct flag for the Jag would be a St Georges Flag, the white back ground with a red plus sign as the car was made in Coventry. Maybe worth a thought, just MHO, but I'm not sure if such an after market part exists. I hope you find something to your taste somewhere, good luck.
Kind regards,

ArtyH

You didn't need to go that far. A simple 'yes' would have been sufficient.

Oh, if only I was good at wrapping a car!! I swear I'd do a silver and matte black "union flag" (politically correct?) on my entire car!! Lol

And I for one, am not sensitive about our flag at all. At one time it was more of a symbol to be proud of but lately, I'm a bit embarrassed by our country's inability to come together and solve major problems. It seems we're taking two steps forward to go three steps back. Oh well, the grass is always greener!!
I'd move permanently to UK if our housing market would improve enough to sell my house! It's on my bucket list!!

They do come in black, They may be harder to find. They would go with your car very well.
