Default Upper Control Arm Bushings...question

Thought best to start a new posting instead of adding to an older one;
Anyways, replacing the poly bushings with the URO rubber bushings. These went into the wishbone, no problem. But even after putting the shims in place...there is still quite a gap between the bushings and the mount. I had no problem at all getting the shims in....LOTS of room to spare....and that is my question.
When I used the poly bushings...it was tight getting the shims in.
The URO bushings have a flat washer on both ends, sleeve in the middle....everything looks correct.....but am I missing something here???

I have tightened the fulcrum/pivot bolt to the torque value...but the wishbone easily rotates up/down....just did not have this when I put the poly bushings in.

Not sure of the design of the URO bush, but OEM allows the control arm to pivot freely around the spacer:- i.e. there is no torsional stress on the rubber component.

I would be concerned about an appreciable gap, though. I don't think that there should be any obvious lateral movement on the arm. As rothwell suggests, are you missing the dished washers?

Hhhmmmmm......dished washers.....
So here is a picture of the URO bushing: has a washer that fits into the rubber. One on each side.

Dished washers.....I have these, which I thought came with the poly bushings.....do these go on each end of the URO bushings? If so, which way does the "dish" go?

These washers fit into the poly bushings with the "dish" on the inside of each. I have no other washers other than the caster shims.

Ok...think I have figured this out. When I installed the poly bushings in 2016, I did not know that I needed to remove the flat washers from the OEM bushings, I only used the dish washers.
I have the right side installed with the dish always towards the bushing, front to rear, bolt head, dish washer, flat washer, bushing, flat washer, dish washer, 1 thin shim, aluminum frame block, 2 thick, 1 thin shims, dish washer, flat washer, bushing, flat washer, dish washer, nut.
Is this order correct??

If so, then probably explains why the right front poly bushing was damaged....I did not have any of the flat washers.

Unfortunately I seemed to have tossed-out one poly bushing...along with two dish washers; so have ordered replacements.

How has your treadwear pattern been since your 2016 bushing replacement job? Have your tires worn evenly, or have you experienced heavier wear on the inside or outside edges?

Yeah I think you got it now. Glad it was easy to solve.

That's all good for US spec cars. See this post of rothwell's:

For reference, here's the OE bushes ready for assembly with flat washers inserted, spacer tubes and domed washers:

Jon - see my original posting "Front Alignment Issues....again".....I posted pictures of the right front tire wear.....which is what started the repairs.

Yep I got it....sure wish I had not thrown those two dish washers away.....oh well....live and learn.
