Default US 98 green Leaper side marker

i thought I may have read that in the US cars, the green Leaper badge on the front wings was a dummy light.

The front side marker, amber, has a cut wire. Can I use the wiring pigtail from the green to swap to the amber?

thanks

Ltd,

As I was trying to remember my 98 Coupe a few minutes ago, I found the Side Leapers in my drawer.......I pushed them to the side and inside the Fender well was the Blinker-light connection, I ordered a set of clear Blinker light Lens and a couple Amber Bulbs that were chrome coated.....They worked great....I still have that setup on my 2006 Today!

Thanks for the feedback Billy. I was able to solder and heat shrink the offending wire

Ltd,

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are trying to do? Did you want to know, if it was wired for Blinkers? or just what are you trying to do here?

The amber side marker , forward of the wheel, wire was cut. The connector was split, where it plugs to the side marker.

I thought if if the green Leaper, forward of the door, aft of the wheel was non functioning, I could cut and splice the good connector in place of the cut one.

i have the battery disconnected and cannot test at the moment. I soldered the wire . Should be fine. If not, I’ll need a marker plug connector.

Ltd,

Unless my memory as left me. I believe the repeater has the same connection for the Bulb as the Side Marker.....Sometime those little plastic Bulb-Holders get Hot and over time burn the plastic so badly that the Bulb won't stay in the holder....Your good, if you use the Blinker Bulb-Holder as if you were to buy the Plastic Blinkers to replace the Leapers, they usually come with new Bulb Holders.....

BC and out!
