Question Valley Hose Alternatives

Anyone have any suggestions regarding alternatives for the valley hoses. The silicone ones appear to be to hard to get priced and delivered to the US or Canada in a timely manner and I need to put my engine back together within the next week.

I ran into the same issue Rezzz. I ended up using the OEM hoses. I figured they lasted 15 years, long enough for me to forget what a P.I.A. job it was to change them.

I'm awaiting delivery of my OEM versions as well, and was considering looking at the hotrod catalogs for some silicone alternatives...just received JEGs today in the mail.

I just put some straight pipe in there (19mm I think), pressure tested it, and it's worked fine for nearly a year now

Its very important to remove ALL scale , rust and corrosion from the nipples the hoses go on to, then give them a smear of black rtv around the CLEAN nipple, same for the nipples on the Throttle body coolant lines, those hoses will probably be full of rust scale..

The newer hoses are redesigned and tougher, no need to worry about that happening again, probably for as long as you own the car.

Just want to get this right. When you mean the newer hoses do you mean the ones direct from the dealer? SNG? We have so much off shore junk in my neck of the woods anymore I hate buying anything off the shelf

The hoses from any supplier. The material and manufacturing process of these hoses from when our car was made, till now have changed drastically.

The standards for cooling hoses, oil hoses, and power steering hoses are held higher as of 2005.

I have a new coolant hose from 1998, and the same for toaday's date, they ARE NOT the same. The new hose has more 3 times more threadings, and 20%thicker,and sturdier.
