Default Valve clearence check (AJ26)

I was checking valve clearances today on my 1998 AJ26 N/A and was surprised that the exhaust valves are all spot on, but a good number of the inlet valves are too tight. If any were to go out of tolerance I would have expected the exhaust valves to go first. Any thoughts on why I'm seeing what I am?

PS - forgive the typo in the thread title - 'clearence' should be clearance!

Did you make a note of the clearances you measured? Are they a long way out of spec?

Various - a few were about 0.03mm out, one was around 0.10. But all the exhaust valves were in spec, and I'd expect them to go out before the inlet valves, which is why it seems odd.
