I'll have another 10 ready next week some time. I'm just waiting for the resistors to arrive.

Hello Sir! As a new owner and member of forum, I'm gratified to find another nugget of very useful info. Please reserve one of your resistor assemblies for me too if possible.

With very best regards,
Steve in San Diego

LOL! I'm selling zombie repellent. $30 for 3 month's supply.

Just kidding! Here's the original thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...raulics-42013/

It to reduce the hydraulic pressure by inserting a resistor in series with the power to the hydraulic pump. That reduces the power available to the pump, which in turn lowers the hydraulic pressure.

OH! OK, well put me down for a bottle. Just in case the Zombies get up this far north. LOL

Hey! Rev. Does this help with the strain on putting the top up and down? was there a problem with pump failure ? I just got the jag last fall and really haven't used the top down much yet.

Bought my '99 XK8 a month ago and within two weeks of having it I wound up having to spend $$HHRUMPH at the dealer to fix my hydraulics. Had a bad ram and was losing fluid almost everywhere except the latch (where everyone else seems to have problems). Just to make sure I wound up having both Rams replaced and all three hose sets replaced. Would love to protect that investment.

Can you put me down for one of your kits? Will PM you.

It looks like Sam's kit has become a real growth industry. Just a reminder, in case he has trouble keeping up with demand ...

Before Sam was nice enough to begin producing these "plug and play" kits, quite a few guys put their own systems together, and this is not a hard task for someone comfortable working with a soldering iron and/or crimp connectors.

For those who might want to go this way ... procedures, parts list (some connectors and a 0.2 ohm 100-watt power resistor) and suppliers can be found in the "System Description" paper at www.scorekeeper.com/jaguar/jaguar01.htm

Dennis-
Thanks for providing the link to the resistor kit build instructions. I am putting it on my near term projects list for the xk8 I bought in April. I understand that the T connectors are also obtainable. Anyway, this will give the Rev a break in manufacturing! Many thanks to all that have and are contributing info and hardware.

For those of you who have requested one of these, it is going to be a while. You might just want to splice one in as Dennis described. I'm going to be out of town the upcoming week, and things at work are just super-hectic right now.

Been looking for the resistor needed. Looks like eBay is the only place I can find them and they come from China. I did find one place in the US but they wanted almost 15 bucks to 2 resistors for shipping. Anyone know a better place in the US to get the resistor can you please post. Thanks in advance.
