Default Warning lights

Help please. Today I have started new problem with my 2005 XKR (X100) . Two warning messages come on together and are both briefly cleared together when I turn ignition off and on again. The warnings are Check Rear Lights, and Cruise Not Available. What is it that would link these two functions? By the way there is nothing wrong with the rear lights in any way. Brake lights and indicators also fine. . Thanks

Most likely the brake switch. VERY common problem. Search is your friend. Not terribly expensive, and a bit of a pain to install, but otherwise no big deal. Can be repaired, too. It is a basic circuit board with 2 switches. Switches can be procured separately, and soldered on if you have the (basic) skills.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

This seems to be a common problem with our cars. It happened on my car on the drive home from the used car dealer(Imagine that!). I, with the help of my local mechanic replaced the switch. It did not solve the problem. Suspecting a bad switch, we replaced that switch. The problem persisted. I now drive the car with the warning lights, as well a a driver's side airbag warning light. I think they are all connected, but am not sure. I think the problem may be related to the driver's seat control module as it is crushed, and when I relocate it, the lights sometimes delay in coming on. Other than that??????
