Default wasted some gas today...

It was about 50-60, sunny and crisp. I put the top down and wrapped up in a warm jacket, donned the sunglasses, and headed out to wander. The city streets were a bit too crowded so I headed west to Red Rock Mountains (Park, Monument, or whatever the guvment calls it all now), looking into a setting sun. The cliffs and desert were gorgeous.

It got cold at 60mph but the ride was great. I can't get over how much I like driving this car. Unlike the 'ol ZR-1, I never feel beat up or worn out when I get back home. Actually, just want to keep driving and driving.

Could use more hot air from the vents but the car runs so cool it doesn't really help that much.

A few gallons of gas = $7-10.

The ride = priceless!

The weather has been in the forties this year. Took the Jag out X-mas Eve and X-mas Day. Last year we had 24 inches of snow (see picture) Keeping my fingers crossed. It has been unusually warm this winter so far.

So true. It's one of my simple pleasures that just keeps on giving (as long as the car doesn't hiccup like on my last trip up through the mountains when my coolant temp sensor fitting came apart and threw me into "restricted" mode).

I almost headed back up last night to enjoy all the stars but the temp had dropped to the 30-40 range and I didn't have the heart for that. Maybe this week I'll head up to Caliente to see my granddaughter and come back via the "Extraterrestrial Highway" near Area 51. The sky is so dark out there that's hard to find constellations because the Milky Way is just thick. I'm trying to use up the last of my Dunlops before getting new tires.

Being a daily driver of my '98 XK8 conv. I get to enjoy by baby 12 months a year. I feel if there is something that really makes you feel good, do it as often as possible not just a couple of times a year. Jack

Was in the high 40's here in the Finger Lakes of NY this morning. Sun was shining,Everyone else in the house was sleeping. I couldn't help it. I went out to the barn, and took my mistress out for about a 75 mile drive. The West lake road of Keuka lake is mainly a series of S curves, rated at 35 MPH. Well, you know that didn't happen. God, it felt GREAT! Then I brought her back home, topped her off, gave her a nice hand wash & dry and put her back to bed. I will have to wait for another warm sunny day, before I take her out again. We've been very fortunate with a mild winter, so far. WOW, she turns me ON! ,LOL
