Default Waterpump

The water pump I installed in my car came with a gasket, but no O ring, and there was no O ring on the water pump I removed. Is the O ring necessary. If it is, I guess I will be doing the job again......Thanks.......Mike

Mine came with a stamped steel 'gasket', no 'O' ring. The thermostat has a split rubber seal that goes around the edge.

This is what mine came with, but SNG Barratt shows 2 sizes of O rings also. After all the trouble I went through finding this engine, I don't want to screw the pooch, and burn this one up. It has no leaks.......Mike
