Wayne's Poly Upper Front Mounts Update after 6,500K
Update on the Poly Front Shock Mounts sold by Wayne Tate after 6500 miles. Attached is picture showing studs still centered and looking great after 1 year and average road conditions. Must admit not as extreme as Gianni's roads, but a few 600-800 mile trips on different state's highways. We did install the 1/8" cushion Wayne provided to obtain proper height and not transmit road noise to chassis. These items were installed prior to the incident where the Fuel Pressure Dampeners leaked. After thorough cleaning and replacement of the seals on the 8 injectors, the mounting cups were removed and Tig welded closed. The FPR and Main Line Dampener were left intact. No adverse or detectable problems has surfaced due to elimination of the OEM rail Dampeners. Due to this rail assembly being NLA, this solution is an alternative way to correct the leaking items. Recent trip averaged 27-28 MPG ( miles/gallons), not trip mileage shown on display. At this time, Wayne's Mounts get a Thumbs Up!

Well done Kelly. If the rain holds off tonight I will be driving my wife's 2006 XK8 to Wayne's home shop early tomorrow morning so we can pull my recently-failed Welsh shock mounts and install a fresh set of Wayne's custom-designed shock mounts. Looking forward to seeing Wayne again - I have not been there since mid-September 2020....
Thank you Kelly for keeping us informed but also about the fuel rail issue.
I think baxtor and I have helped a lot of folks and so good to hear things are still holding up. worth all the effort we put into it.
So far one reported problem and pretty sure we found that a electric shock was not operating and when they don't, it's not any shocking motion. Nothing could stand up to that.
