Question What could it be?

During the past couple of months, as I'm driving thru George Bush Park at about 50MPH. I've noticed a Wind Noise over on the right-side of the Texas Coupe...I first thought that I had accidently hit the switch and rolled the Right Window down but it was still all the way up! Now I hear it every day.....Does anyone know what could be happening? I've checked all the rubber gaskets around the Door and Window and they all look good as new! Could it have something to do with the A/C System? Which seems to be operating just fine......
I would appreciate some help! It's 2005 XKR Coupe.....and has over a 1,000 miles on the clock!

Wow Billy. Over a thousand miles already?

I'd first shut off the climate system to see if the whistle goes away. Vary engine speed (not vehicle speed) to see if it changes in pitch. I wouldn't discount it coming from under the bonnet.

I have tracked wind noise on several of our vehicles over the decades to a couple of different sources:

1. Wiper blades parked just slightly too high on the windshield. Adjusting the blades down an inch or so cured it.

2. Side mirror cowls whistling at various speeds. Adjusting the cowl position slightly cured it.

Front grills can also start making wind noise if any of their tines get bent or twisted even slightly....

Woox4, I've sprayed Rubber Lube on all the rubber gaskets and rolled the Windows up and they are sealing really well.....I don't think they are in need of adjustment.....It's more down in the Floor Area.....

mhminnich, I will try shutting down the A/C tomorrow, as I drive through the Park! What if the noise stops? Can't drive around down here without A/C....Anyway, I will try your ideas and let you know what comes of it!
Thanks a bunch!

My coupe had a ticking noise in the left B pillar, I just drive faster until it goes away.

I don't think mine is wind, but wind can make a lot a noise if it hits a harmonic with the rubber. I can play the kazoo bagpipes on miata windshield trim at 45 mph.

You could use a smoke machine inside the cabin and see if there is any external leaks. May need 2 people have one person inside directing the smoke around window seals, door seals, etc and other person on outside looking for traces of smoke. Good luck.

Howdy Folks:
Can we rule out the radio antenna being extended? The main reason I have the stealth ANT mod is wind noise while my entertainment center is on, but not listening to broadcast radio.

Dr. D You know I don't listen to the Radio anymore, only CD's but your right, the Antenna is still sticking-up about 6'or 8'.......I'll try that tomorrow and let you know......

I just can't see how it could be the Windows but I've learned to never let a good suggestion go by.....We shall see!

Jon89, The Wipers might be the problem, I'll let you know! They do stick out there a bit.....but the Grill...I looked it over and I don't see anything bent!
Although the 2005-2006 XKR Mesh Grill is larger and more Convex than the other Models. That would be a reach, I think..... I'll let you know!
