What to do with an obsolete GPS system?
Given that older XK's cannot update their Navigation systems past 2004 (at best it seems) what do we do with the navigation systems?
It seems unfortunate to have such a nice display in the cockpit that has absolutely no use.
I have seen one suggestion for a screen only application using an aftermarket Garmin GPS.
Surely, there must be other options alternatives.
Anyone else have some suggestions? Suggestions and examples along with costs would be great...
Thanks,
Kip

This would be a good place to ask my most recent question.
Right now, my screen has three inputs (1) the garmin GPS, (2) the deck video output, either the music folder contents or video, or (3) the jag clock.
i'd like to get rid of the clock, mainly because my dvd drive in the rear is failing, and it is barely spinning...only gets to the clock after about 10 minutes of driving.
Anyway, what else could I put in the 3rd input?...kinda goes along with this thread topic. I'd like a clock of some sort, or maybe just the time somewhere on the screen...but perhaps some subtle graphics, maybe a bit of animation of some sort, maybe a leaper with a clock in the corner? Of course, i'd have to have some constantly powered video source to route a RCA video plug into. It would have to be cost effective.
Anyway, looking to hear what other people have to say.
