Hi,
I have a 2005 4.2s can anyone tell me if it has the 5 or 6 speed gearbox?
Reading Nigel Thorley's book he recommends the oil & filter is changed at 50k miles on the 5 speed box. Is this the same for the 6 speed?

You have the ZF 6HP26 6-speed transmission. ATF drain-and-fills every 40,000 to 50,000 miles is indeed a wise decision. Many of us have been using Mercon SP ATF for years with no issues....

I got my Mercon SP on eBay or amazon by the case for a reasonable price. My trans is butter smooth, thanks to all the helpful info I learned on this forum. You guys rock!! TM
