This is my first post, I hope someone can help.
Does anybody knows what these two connectors are for (see pictures) ?
I am trying to recommission my 1997 XK8 convertible after three years in storage. When I first started it, the engine was running very rough and would choke (at best) or stall when I pressed the accelerator. I took it to a Jaguar garage where the coils and spark plugs got changed. It cost me nearly £1500 and the repair worked ... for 24 hours ! Then the trouble started again.
I tried to understand what could be the cause of the problem, and noticed, upon inspection that TWO connectors were loose, right behind the throttle box. I removed the throttle box in the hope that the mechanic had merely forgotten to plug these back, but could find nothing. So I am baffled and the car is still not running.
I have been suggested to take the car back to the garage but :
1 - At the moment, it does not drive, so I would have to pay someone to take it there;
2 - I am not sure that the garage I took it took, although claiming to be a Jaguar specialist, had any clue of how to work on an XK8.
If any of you know what these connectors are, and whether it's normal for them not to be connected to anything, I would appreciate your inputs.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice you may provide.
