Whats The Cheapest Effective Way To Make Stock XKR Exhaust Loud Like A Aston Martin ?

Basically, no.
The DB9 is a Straightforward V12.
The XKR is a supercharged V8 - they are never going to sound the same.
An excellent sound option though is to replace the two back boxes with Adamesh straight through pipes.
It too sounds amazing - more like a Maserati than an Aston.

I love the sound of my XKR(although it is quite quiet), and the V8 in my Audi has a great noise too. The strait pipe option for the XKR has been something I've considered, have you done this?

There are tons of exhaust threads on here if you do some searching. Here is my system: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ter-40s-37811/ It is on the louder end of the spectrum, but I love it. As a bonus, it isn't too expensive (although removing mufflers and replacing with pipe is still going to be cheaper)

I think that without spending too much, and without ending up with a 'noisy' car from the drivers point of view, the straight tails are the best option.
They will be 'sedate' when driving round town etc, but when you floor it, or want a bit of drama, they give it in spades!
Mine is a standard XK8 (not the XKR) and when I floor it, it turns heads.
Someone actually said to me that 'It sounds like a bl--dy Ferrari!'.
This was actually said by a non-car person, so I know it doesn't actually sound like a lump of Maranello, but I do know exactly what they meant.
Get the straight tails.
Cheap, fantastic.

How about electric exhaust cut outs? You don't have to open them all the way.

I should have mine installed soon.

If you want some great loud sound, coupled with a respectable increase in power for the money, you might have a custom exhaust shop build you an exhaust similar to a Macleod x-pipe. He claimed about 12+ hp. Pre-made x-pipes can be bought on Ebay and Amazon
This is a link for the sound. It sounds pretty scary to passers-by.

This is made out of 2.5" stainless. The exhaust has very few bends in it and goes under the axle instead of over it like the stock exhaust does. Here's a link of the components.
I believe he used Magnaflow exhausts (I may be wrong). If you want a louder note, you could try a set of Flowmasters at the rear. My neighbor installed Magnaflows on his brand new Chevy pick-up. I thought they sounded great, but he wanted something even more ominous. He installed a set of Flowmasters. It sounds nasty. (in a good way) and definitely louder.

You can probably have something like this done at an experienced shop for around $1K.
There are lots of videos of Jag exhausts on YouTube, and lots of discussions about the Mcleod exhaust and its power on this forum. You might also consider a set of new
Nameless Performance downpipes that add more power and may also add to the flavor of the exhaust note. This is a quality product that has passed emissions tests in California. They run about $900. They are also a sponsor on this site. Good luck.

I replaced the back boxes with straight through pipes. It sounds a bit meatier, especially on start-up and overall volume has gone up around 20%. No droning at cruising speeds.

I guess I don't understand what exactly you are looking for... You've been given a brunt of answers.
Just got have some custom mandrel pipes bent with 2.5" pipes and either go straight back or go into some free flowing (open mufflers). Although depending on what state you are in there may be emissions restrictions to consider.

The Adamesh straight pipe swap worked wonderfully for me. Little bit of work (mostly to get the old pipes off) and it sounds wonderful now. Be aware than Mina Gallery is working on a better solution (better as in they don't intend to crimp the pipes when they bend them and hangers will be improved) but this is a cheap quick fix.
