Wheel alignment - "we cant do it. Every adjustment changes previous setting"
Like a few of us lately I am trying to fix inner edge wear.
I replaced front tires, replaced upper shock mount (only 1 side was defective). Ride height is now good, identical both sides.
This morning I brought her to a local tire shop for alignment. I could see they never removed front wheels.
After an hour, they drove the car out and explained that they couldn't do the alignment. They explained that each time they made an adjustment it changed the previous sides setting. There will be no charge.
I asked for the spec readout, it was unavailable "since they did not complete the alignment."
Since they left the wheel on, it tells me they only played with the toe.
Before I write this shop off as inept, I wanted to check in with you guys and make sure I'm not missing something I should look into.
I believe the bearings and bushings are tight. Is there something I might be missing?
Can one set the toe without working with the caster?
Thanks for your advice. I'll find a better shop, just don't want to miss anything.

excellent workmanship, they should be able to figure it out. probably the best alignment and suspension technicians in the tri-state area.
