One of those 'dream drives' I'll most likely never get to enjoy.

Thanks for sharing. Nice pictures and sounds like a wonderful trip.

Very glad when someone remembers to write about the good times with their cars. We do forget that with all the fix it queries we see.

Cool

Aug 20 - 25 made a little trip Lincoln, NE to Colorado Springs, CO. and return. Everything went fine. Trip out was via Interstate 80-76 & 25. Coming home did the 2 lane thing just cruising along. Made a high as 28.3MPG on the 2 lanes.

Default Calling all Southern California Jaguars

A couple of friends of mine are organizing a meet for interesting cars next weekend. The meeting is at Victoria Gardens Mall in Rancho Cucamonga.

Based on last month's event there promise to be lots of exotica - Ferraris, Lambos, Bentleys and only 1 Jaguar. Please join me in representing this most noble of British marques.

Ferraris/Exotics/Classics in the Inland Empire event 9-15-13 at Victoria Gardens - FerrariChat.com
There will be a photographer in residence (that would be me) and possibly also a videographer. After the main meet CNC Motors, in Ontario, will be hosting a Barbeque. I will photograph everything that moves during the meet and then will take a variety of other shots afterwards including freeway shots and a couple of planned locations:

Default The very top of Mt. Lemmon

I took the XKR to the very top of Mt. Lemmon (approx. 9500 feet elevation). The car was amazing in the curves with the new twin screw supercharger, lowered suspension and blue top solenoids in the tranny. The Ventus V12 tires never squealed.

King of the mountain today... aw, YEAH!

Friday was a gorgeous, sunny day with temperature lingering in the high 60s - a perfect day to take the CAT out for a drive. I had some business to do in Brooklyn (NY), and after, I stopped by to take some shots by the Atlantic Ocean. In some shots you can see the the Verrazano-Narrows bridge - "Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge that connects the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn in New York City at the Narrows" (Wiki).
In other shot(s) you can make out the new Freedom Tower in the downtown Manhattan and, if you look closely, you may even see the Statue of Liberty.
But most important, you can see my lovely ride - the Jag.

That's the amazing thing about these cars. They look timeless. How natural the XK8 looks in this picture. Gorgeous! Lucky you to be near such a sight!

Your car almost blends with the colors of the sky and the water. Beautiful ride.

We just returned from California and the beautiful Redwood forest. Great weather allowed us to tour with the top down.
1900 miles and 29 mpg with a flawless performance by the 1997 XK8!!

That's more like it.

Posts about days spent driving Jaguars instead of days spent underneath them in the garage!

Last sat went from home to Peterborough (around 350kms). Sunday started in Peterborough and the first leg ended at the British car show in Burlington ( 190km). Left Burlington at 1pm and was home just after five (420kms). Full tank sun morning and 1/4 tank left upon arriving home. I was impressed.

I was hoping to get up there this year, but it looks like I won't get the chance before the weather turns dodgy.

My wife took off on another of her solo round trips to Tampa yesterday to visit her parents. First solo Tampa trip since the ZF pan/filter/sleeve/fluid change and Adaptations Drive Cycle procedure were done back in mid-July....

She reached Tampa in record time (10.5 hours) with the XK8 performing flawlessly. Hope it will be just as reliable on the return trip in a week or so....

Thumbs up

Just returned home in Lincoln, NE yesterday evening from a trip to Houston, TX where we had been for a week to visit one of our sons to celebrate his 45 birthday. Car ran great and it got up to 29.5 mpg. That makes about 3000 miles we put on her in the last 30 days counting the trip to Colorado Springs last month.

Washed and polished the car and went for for spin through the woods of North West Connecticut yesterday. Weather was perfect, and with the top down and ELO playing (showing my age!) it was a perfect afternoon.

I was scouting out a route for our local club Winery/lunch/foliage tour in a couple of weeks time (when the NE foliage will be at it's height). Here's the route I took - http://goo.gl/maps/Jbfue (Click the 3d button by the driving directions to get the full tour - the part through the hills around the head of the lake is great!)

Default Step by step

My poor Ms Jiggy is patiently waiting for a serious road trip. Meanwhile, she got to jump on the highway for a few miles. Took her in to get smogged. Passed beautifully! One more item off the list. Picking up some of her pieces from her last garage. I don't know if a picture of the smog shop would be that impressive! LOL

Sounds like a great way to spend the day. BTW what polish do you use? I need to pick up some and can change it up if I learn better.
