Default Where did you drive in your XK8/R today?

Prompted by steveinfrance's picture of his XKR convertible in front of a beautiful French Chateau earlier this week, I thought it was time to get out.

In my case less than a mile from home to Durham Cathedral:

Completed in 1137 (that's the date, not the time), it's a World Heritage Site attracting huge numbers of visitors throughout the year.

Wonderful for the visitors but it can get very busy when you live here and are just trying to get to and from work!

Early on a Sunday morning is about the only time to take a pic like this.

Good idea for a (hopefully) long running thread.
That's the trouble with Durham - they'll abandon scrap cars anywhere.
Is the blue sky photoshop?
Enough already!
No outings today but another day trip next week to a gorgeous medieval village - more pics on this thread soon.

Steve,

Le Depanage has arrived. It's safely back in the garage.

Blue sky is real - first day without for several weeks.

You guys are making me home sick. Tina and I were married in Berlin Germany in 1979. Ihe oldest building in our area is the Opera House built in 1871. Will be heading to Germany in 2014 for a reunion.

That was my thought too.

Hopefully this thread will have some legs, I can post a pic next to a cactus (blue sky guaranteed) in about October.

Car looks good Graham, I think the last time I was in Durham was an overnight stop on the way to Donnington Park in the late 90's maybe.

My house was built in 1865. Just like a Jaguar, it needs constant maintenance.

Back to Germany for your 35th Wedding Anniversary. I'll bet you wonder where the time has gone.

Have to confess I blanked out the number before the 'GGG' - don't want to end up with a mailbox full of parking tickets courtesy of the false plate brigade.

I think you might have quoted the full numbers in a previous post, in a reference that you had 2 up for sale. Or were they different plates??

Also what's this work thing????

With a beautiful car like that, who would look at the plate? That would be like staring at a beautiful woman's big toe! I didn't notice the plate until after your post.

In the UK a personal plate can be a big ticket item sometimes thousands, not just 25 bucks to the DMV like here. So they do tend to get noticed more.
Some people like toes too.

It was GGG 1 at £250,000 and 1 GGG at £150,000 that are up for sale. I have low numbers but neither of these are mine.

Work buys Jaguar tokens.

Now children, let's behave!!! LOL

Drove from Alabama to Florida, sorry no pics, drove down at night and drove back up in the rain, took my daughter car shopping in between. Next time I go down I will get a pic in front of an irish castle.

PS: A Florida millionaire in the 70's brought a castle brick by brick from Ireland to Orlando, he ended up getting caught for fraud and the castle never got completely built back. The front is done, but the rest has been sitting for almost 40 years.

Oops, sorry, just realized I went WAY off topic.

He may have had some Irish blood in him by the sound of his business and building dealings.
